| The Kajagoogoo Award is awarded to singles that have reached the 30-week mark this week. Also, it may indicate that a song may have its final week on the chart. If a single is under #100 and has reached the 30-week mark, it can't remain on the chart and will become a falloff the next week. The rule is in place to keep the chart fresh with newer songs and to prevent excessive week totals on the chart. However, there is no week limitations if the single can remain over the #100 position after the single reaches its 30th week. The Kajagoogoo Award is named after the 80s one-hit wonder new wave group. | ||

| The Plimsouler Award is awarded to singles that have reached the 52-week mark this week; in other words, singles that have stayed on the chart for a full calender year. The namesake of the Plimsouler Award is inspired by the number 52. In most years, 52 weeks (or 52 charts) makes a complete chart year. Also, the number 52 is also popular because a mile is 5,280 feet. So, the name of this award is inspired after my favorite "miles" song which is: "A Million Miles Away," from the Plimsouls (1983). Other names that were considered are: Mile High Club, Loveshacker Award (reference to the B-52's) and 50 Cents & a 2Pac. | ||
