There are times when records are going to broken and Michelle Branch's "Are You Happy Now?" establishes three huge records in Chart Named Goo history that will probably take a long time to be broken. "Are You Happy Now?" jumps 171-1 this week which is a 170-spot jump. That establishes the song when the biggest spot jump ever as well as the biggest jump to #1. "Are You Happy Now" is the fourth consecutive #1 song of Michelle Branch. All three of her chart entries in 2002 went to #1: "All You Wanted," (3 weeks), "The Game Of Love," (5 weeks), and "Goodbye To You," (2 weeks). "Are You Happy Now?" makes Michelle Branch the new owner of the consecutive number ones records. It broke the previous record held by Britney Spears ("...Baby One More Time," "Sometimes" & "(You Drive Me) Crazy") and Alien Ant Farm ("Smooth Criminal," "Movies" & "Attitude"). Alien Ant Farm's streak is still intact. "Are You Happy Now?" moves Michelle Branch into a tie for 3rd with Blink 182 on the most weeks @ number one list and a tie for 4th with Sugar Ray, Creed & Red Hot Chili Peppers on the most number ones list. Currently, Michelle Branch has four number ones and 11 total weeks at number one. Michelle Branch is starting to become one of the biggest artists ever on the Chart Named Goo chart.
Audioslave's "Like A Stone", the previous owner of the biggest jump to #1 record, stays at #2 this week and has its 12th top ten week of its chart run. This week, there is 5 new entries into the top ten: "Are You Happy Now?," Trapt's "Headstrong," Sugar Ray's "Mr. Bartender (It's So Easy)," Good Charlotte's "Girls & Boys," and Girls Aloud's "No Good Advice."
This was definetly a week for big jumps this week. On top of the accomplishment of "Are You Happy Now?, Lucy Woodward's "Blinsided" had a 100-spot jump from #187 to #87. Other big jumps this week come from Futureshock, AFI, Electric Six, R. Kelly & Theory Of A Deadman.
Papa Roach has the most successful chart falloff this week. "Time & Time Again" peaked at #3 and was on the chart for 32 weeks. It had a slow accent to #3 and it didn't reach until the top ten until its 17th week. "Time & Time Again" is the 2nd consecutive song to reach Kajagoogoo (30 weeks+) status on the chart as "She Loves You Not" had 31 weeks on the chart. |

Counting Crows - - If I Could Give All My Love
|
|
This is one of the weakest weeks for debuts that we have this year and so Counting Crows would probably not earn Hot Shot Debut status had this been another week. "If I Could Give All My Love" is the following to the CNG top five hit, "Big Yellow Taxi." "If I Could Give All My Love" lacks the emotional fire of the previous single but the song does enough to satisfy Counting Crows fans. This song probably won't get to the level of "Big Yellow Taxi" in terms of chart success but the song is set up for a decent run on the chart.
